In accordance with the regulations approved by the Regulator on September 1, 2016, the Regulator has collected information on the average volume of natural gas stored in Latvia in the three previous calendar years. The average amount of natural gas stored in Latvia in the previous three calendar years - 2013, 2014, 2015 - was 17 391 578 MWh.

According to Paragraph 4 of the Regulations of the "Inčukalns Underground Gas Storage Facilities" approved by the Regulator on April 13, 2017, the maximum amount of active natural gas storage is 24 219 000 000 kWh.

In the total calendar year, the amount of natural gas or liquefied natural gas stored in a natural gas storage facility is determined by adding up the volume of natural gas or liquefied natural gas in the natural gas storage at the beginning of a calendar year, with the volume of natural gas or liquefied natural gas deposited in a natural gas storage in a calendar year.
